Dental Implants at Headless Cross in Redditch
Missing teeth affect a person’s appearance, their ability to speak, chew and their general dental health. Many options exist for the replacement of lost teeth, traditional methods have included partial dentures or bridgework. Bridgework usually requires drilling of the adjacent teeth, which can have a detrimental effect on these teeth in the long-term and loose dentures can cause areas of gum ulceration and soreness. Dental implants are small but strong posts used in place of a missing tooth root enabling us to attached crowns, bridges or dentures.
A modern alternative to dentures.

The Implant Process
Consultation at your initial consultation a comprehensive assessment of your oral health will be carried out and Simon will be able to answer any ‘burning’ questions you may have. Following the initial consultation we obtain a CT scan before discussing all possible options and proposed treatments with you. We will also provide you with a fully costed and written treatment plan.
Phase 1 the implant is placed in the jaw, this procedure is normally possible with local anaesthetic, or under light sedation if you prefer. The dental implant then needs to integrate fully with the jaw bone. This process usually takes between 6- 8 weeks. It is possible to wear temporary dentures or bridges during the healing period.
Phase 2 once the jaw has healed, impressions can then be taken and sent off to the laboratory to construct a custom-made crown or bridge that matches the natural teeth. Following this, your new replacement teeth are attached to the implant.
